What Sona Believes

Patients are not their diagnoses.

A diagnosis is a label applied to a pattern of symptoms. It is useful — but it is not the same as an explanation. Sona is interested in explanations.

Normal results do not mean no pathology.

Standard investigations are designed to detect common conditions within defined reference ranges. They are not designed to detect every possible mechanism of illness. A normal result means the test did not find what it was looking for — not that nothing is wrong.

Complexity deserves time.

The Sona Method accepts a limited number of new patients each month. This is not a commercial decision. It is a clinical one. Complex cases require time — to review, to investigate, to think, and to monitor.

The patient is the expert on their own experience.

Sona listens carefully. The history a patient gives — the sequence of events, the pattern of symptoms, the things that make them better or worse — is often the most important diagnostic information available.
